As the title indicates, this is a fine board overall.
A couple of minor negatives to start with:
- The rear fin is "huge". It goes nearly as deep as the centerboard and I'm not sure it adds a lot, when it comes to stability of sailing upwind, but it means that you have to stop when you hit shallow waters. This can mean a long walk back to the shore depending on where you sail
- The board and the rig came with zero instructions whatsoever. Granted, I was able to find what I needed online, but I was at a location with lousy Internet connectivity, and so this turned into a major hassle.
- The footstrap locations are both unintuitive when trying to install them (there are several options you can choose from), and once installed not very effective.
Except for these mostly minor issues, which are why I only give it 4 stars, the board is very forgiving and while not a high-performance board, sails reasonably well. Rigging the sail is pretty straightforward. Its only disadvantage is that the built-in horizontal battens mean that you cannot roll the sail on the mast. The sail has screw-adjusting batten tensioners, but I did not think they made much of a difference.
The mast extension is easy to use and setup and useful.
The harness that came with the rig was very nice, but it took me a while to figure out how to attach the harness lines on the boom (you have to remove the end-part of the boom and slide them over).
